- By connecting the access & success community around the world, the cause of access and student success for those underrepresented at the post-secondary level will gain its voice, momentum and capacity for impact, positively transforming student opportunity at the global and local level.
- By 2030, post-secondary education will be measurably more accessible, available and affordable to developed and developing world populations as a result of the efforts of the global access community.
To build a global, engaged & collaborative access & success community that will champion post-secondary education for all and transform student opportunity.
THE GAPS AGENDA
- Knowledge & awareness – Build the evidence base and develop the case for support for increasing access to post-secondary education & student success. Transfer knowledge.
- Collective capacity – Build a global network of organizations and individuals committed to increasing access to post-secondary education & student success and build its collective capacity globally and locally.
- Collective advocacy – Instigate the cultural transformation in organizations to achieve our vision through network advocacy.
- Student leadership – Place students & young people at the core of efforts to widen post-secondary access and success.
- Diversity & inclusion – Promote equality of access to post-secondary education for minorities and indigenous peoples around the world as well as inclusive campuses.
- Inclusive excellence – Develop innovative visions, strategies and methodologies on inclusive pedagogy, support and curriculum sensitive to the ‘worlds’ and voices of youth that represent a hidden potential for human capital but do not see themselves represented in current systems and policies.
- Innovation & access to technology – Champion equality of access to the use of ICT at all levels in the post-secondary pathway and in creating new opportunities for post-secondary access and success and foster system innovation.
- Access to STEM – Create awareness of inequities in access to technology and innovation-related disciplines and encourage new pathways to Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM).
- Community engagement – Initiate and encourage innovative, exemplar and globally scalable access projects through institutional-community engagement in cities and regions.
