Sunway University new campus – completion end 2014

Sunway University achieved an EXCELLENT rating (Tier 5) in the first official rating of all universities and university colleges in Malaysia in the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) Rating System for Institutions of Higher Learning (SETARA) in 2009 and 2011. Recently, it achieved a Tier 5 in the D-SETARA disciplined based rating system by the MQA. Expansion plans are under-way on the 22-acre campus, a new 12-storey building with cutting edge academic and sporting facilities, and 2-level basement car park is expected to be completed end of 2014. The new building can accommodate up to 9,000 students.

In March 2012, a new ultra-contemporary Graduate Centre was completed, it features three auditoriums built in the style of those at Harvard University. The campus is linked to Sunway Pyramid Mall and other amenities in the Sunway Integrated Resort City including Monash University Malaysia via a tree-level canopy walkway.

The student population of Sunway University stands at 4,000 with 30% of them international students from over 90 countries.

In 2006 Sunway University entered into a partnership with Lancaster University, ranked in the top 1% of universities in the world thus enabling its home-grown degrees to be validated by Lancaster University. Students can pursue degrees in the areas of business, psychology, communications and computing. The university has also partnered the famed global institution for culinary education, Le Cordon Bleu to validate its international hospitality management and culinary management degrees.
